When dripping meat juices and marinades fall onto the hot surface of the Weber® Flavorizer bars, they vaporize and rise back up to envelop the food. Developed by Weber in the 1980s, these bars revolutionized gas grilling. As these gas grill Flavorizer bars have to take a lot of grease, they are porcelain-enameled which makes them easier to clean. The V-shaped bars also keep fat and drippings from falling directly onto the gas burners and causing flare-ups. Remove surface dirt and corrosion on the Weber Porcelain Enameled Flavorizer Bars regularly using a grill brush and a small blunt knife. Try heating up the grill first and then letting it cool down to make cleaning easier and if necessary remove the bars and immerse them in hot soapy water.
