The Makita AWS® capable cordless drywall sander features direct drive BL™ brushless motor positioned at the sanding head for increased sanding efficiency and reduced maintenance. Eliminating the carbon brushes, this BL™ brushless motor runs cooler and more efficiently for longer life. Variable speed control dial allows users to match speed to the specific application whereas constant speed control automatically offers additional power to the motor to maintain speed under load. This sander with battery, weighs only 10.7 lb and has rubberized soft grip that reduces user fatigue and provides increased comfort on the job. Tool powered by an 18 Volt Lithium-Ion battery assures fastest charge time, more working time and minimal sitting time on the charger. Sander featured with Star Protection Computer Controls™, allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time. This Star Protection communication technology also monitors condition while in use to safeguard against over-loading, over-discharging and over-heating. It has an adjustable extension pipe that collapses for use in confined spaces and extends up to 16-1/2 Inch for reaching high areas. The dust brush is removable with easy glide roller wheels and allows for seamless flush-to-wall edge sanding.
