This versatile cutting solution has a Makita built variable 2-speed brushless motor to deliver 0 to 2300 SPM (low) and 0 to 3000 SPM (high) for rapid cutting operation. This powerful brushless motor is electronically controlled to optimize battery energy use for up to 50% longer run time per charge. Tool with 1-1/4 Inch stroke length, features refined crank mechanism design to minimize blade deflection and vibration. Tool is jam packed with features like large two-finger variable speed trigger for added convenience and reinforced fixed shoe for longer endurance. It has electric brake for increasing productivity and retractable tool hook to secure the tool when not in use. The Star Protection Computer Controls™ technology allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions while in use to safeguard against over-loading, over-discharging and over-heating. Tool has an LED light to illuminate the line of cut and tool-less blade change for faster blade installation/removal. It works well with an 18 Volt Lithium-Ion slide-style battery with a Star symbol.
